What is a Simple Group?

A gathering of believers that can meet anywhere (a park, home, coffee shop, or other third space) and focus on 3 elements: Worship, Community, and Mission.

Worship

Through worship, we acknowledge God’s worth. This worship isn’t only in song; it extends throughout the week and involves our whole being. Whether in the community, at home, or gathered together, we are the body of Christ.

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:17

Community

The Word of God is central to our spiritual formation as a community. We don’t rely on one preacher for instruction when we gather. Instead, with the facilitation of each simple group leader, we dive into Scripture, prayer, and conversation with God and one another. In that, we experience the way of Jesus and the Holy Spirit's liberating work.

“Faith comes by hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Rom. 10:17

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28: 19-20

Mission: We’re here to witness and join in God’s redeeming work through Christ. By doing this, we help bring wholeness to the world and express our faith uniquely and creatively. We aim to find our discipleship path so we can help others discover the gospel.

“Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy.” 1 Peter 2: 9-10

Why Become a Simple church?

Simple’ = Returning to an ancient, kingdom-rooted way of being the Church of Christ.

The church is not a place or platform, but Jesus' presence among His people.

When we reduce the church to a building and performance, we rob people of their God-given role in the body.

Being, or embodying the Church, means actively participating in the priesthood of all believers.

The Church is not a spectator event;

it is a Spirit-filled body on a mission.

How to Start a Simple Group?

Start with friendship

The early church of scripture did not boast of weekly services but of daily life spent together.

God’s family is formed in social settings, living rooms, and mealtimes. We can’t grow spiritually unless we’re connected through relationships. Intentional friendship becomes the pathway for formation, multiplication, and kingdom growth.

Follow with Walking in the way of Christ

The Spirit gifts the entire church, not just the professional few. The pastor is not a one-person show or spiritual superhero. Biblical leadership multiplies. This approach decentralizes authority and empowers disciples to lead and serve. Ministry belongs to God's people.

God’s family is formed in many places, including social settings, living rooms, and shared meals. We can’t grow spiritually unless we’re connected through relationships that form our faith, not only prove our church exists.

Keep it Simple

They devoted themselves… breaking bread in their homes… with glad and sincere hearts.

Our true purpose in gathering:

To be spiritually transformed into the image of Christ.
